Last week we made a quick trip to Ok City to watch my first cousin Ashur pitch. He is amazing to watch and is picked to be drafted next month in the 2nd or 3rd round. Jackson and Bay talk about him a lot and miss him since he has been in OK this year. We knew this might be our last chance to watch him pitch this close to AR so we packed up, took all three kids, and lft Tuesday night. He pitched Wednesday and then after the game headed back so Daddy could get back to work Thursday. Even though in a 24 hr period we drove over 10 of them it was so worth it. Best of all his team won the college regionals and they are off the World Seris this weekend. I just read an article today that said he is one of the top left handed pitchers expected to be in the draft so we are so very proud of him. Way to go Ash!!! All of your dedication to the game you have loved since you could walk has paid off for sure. To here he is throwing 95mph and has a 1.9 ERA is one thing but then to see it is an entire different story. That was the little dude that use to go round and round with me because he was such a all boy lil mess, really does seem like not long ago. He couldn't be bribed or talked into anything. Very strong willed..like another little boy I know....lol. Me and Aunt Patti joke all the time about some of the things Jackson does now that reminds us of Ashur. Jackson starts asking about 4pm when is his Daddy going to be home. Then usually goes out in the front yard with his t-ball glove, bat, balls, bases, and anything else that has to do with the sport. It is so cute. It is just funny because I can remember Ashur at 2 years old would walk around the house with a glove on that was really as big as him would sit on the front porch waiting on his Dad to get home. I'm just trying to remind myself to enjoy Jackson being this age because right now he seems like he is growing up so fast. Too fast! Does anyone else feel like this with their pre-schoolers? O yes he had a semi melt down in the 10th inning at the game. I must say 10 innings is a lot of ball for three kids four and under. Next time a babysitter sounds wonderful! lol. Anyways, he got in trouble and then informed me he wasn't leaving the game with me and then said and I quote "fine mom, i'm just going to stay here forever and ever and I'm going to keep being a jerk too" Do WHAT???? Yes lets just say that didn't fly. The only thing I can think of is maybe the kid on Home Alone said something like that but who knows. So then after that was taken care of back at the car, he said "When we get home I'm just going to call 911 and tell them you can go away while you are being mean" AGAIN I'M THINKING "DO WHAT"?? Seriously, such a mess. Then he thought I walked off but I was really just getting Bay out of the stroller and he started crying saying "Daddy go get here, I was just kidding, I didn't mean it MOMMY, MOMMy, don't go, daddy I'm going to go get here I promise I will be careful, i'm sorry." He was crying and it broke my heart. I then reassured him that no matter what he did or ever said to me I would never love him any less and that he could never get me to leave him. Then he started smiling. He still is my deep thinker full of questions and every day seems like a new revelation about life mostly to do with the Bible, Jesus, getting old, how something works or how we are able to see, ear, move, etc. I swear sometimes he is way above his years as far as critical thinking goes but the all-american three year old picking at his sisters, lovin on his momma, wrestling with his buds at school, and having those priceless moments with his Daddy.
